We can’t do this on our own. Every week we get emails from young people from all over who need our help to complete internships and work experience in prestigious outlets. We are on the hunt for ambitious and committed organisations who can help us fund our next stage of development.

- £600 covers a fully-funded month of hosting for a bright young journalist
- £1,500 so we can spend a week travelling to universities out of London to make sure talented students from diverse backgrounds know we exist and apply for the internship of their dreams
- £2,300 so a 3-person website development team can spend 5 days making our website even more awesome
- £12,000 so a grad student can research the current state of media internships in the UK – which has never been done before
- £24,000 so we can finally hire a part-time dedicated co-ordinator to look after PressPad round the clock!

What is PressPad doing to diversify the media?
PressPad is an award-winning social enterprise that matches young journalists with host-mentors. In 2018 the Sutton Trust estimated that it costs a young person £1,019 a month to do unpaid internships in London where the best media opportunities are found. This prices out talented, diverse people who cannot afford to work for free or who don’t have friends/family to stay with.
PressPad significantly lowers these costs by matching such people with professional journalists in London with a spare room who act as hosts and mentors for those completing placements. Our service allows young journalists from all over the UK and from all walks of life to take up internships in London and kick off their career in the media.
