Privacy Policy

We take protecting your personal data very seriously so let us tell you how we’ll use it.

Who we are

The PressPad is a project that aims to diversify the media by removing one of the main financial obstacles to those trying to enter the profession.By providing paid-for accommodation in London – by far the hub for the majority of usually unpaid media internships – to those who have already successfully secured internships, placements or short-term contracts, PressPad hopes to even the playing field for aspiring journalists who live outside of London or do not have the means to rent in the capital. If you knew that rent would already be taken care of, what opportunity wouldn’t you apply for?

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect contact details of those who want to find our more about our hosting scheme whether that is as hosts, interns, partners or funders. You can opt in to our mailing list here if you want to keep up-to-date with the latest news from us and our participants. Once our summer pilot scheme is over, we will get in touch again to make sure all who indicated initial interest are still happy to be contacted.

We also collect some volunteered data from participants of the scheme for the following reasons: to operate the hosting and matches to the highest and safest of standards, for funding applications, and to improve the PressPad experience. There is the option to opt out of some of this data collection and we will always ask your permission before collecting this information from you, and make its use clear.
